Pay per request, not per seat

Microsoft charges about US$2 per signature request through your own Azure subscription. No user licences, no annual plan. We set a budget with alerts so there are no surprises.

Documents stay in your tenant

Contracts never leave Microsoft 365. Signers verify with a one-time code or MFA, the signed copy saves straight back to SharePoint, and every action is recorded in Microsoft Purview audit.

Nothing new to learn

Your team sends from SharePoint, which they already use. Clients sign in about two minutes in a browser, with no account or software to install.

What’s included

Everything to go live, done once and done properly

Billing set up properly

An Azure resource group and monthly budget with email alerts, linked to Microsoft 365 pay-as-you-go billing in an Australian region.

eSignature switched on securely

Microsoft 365 eSignature enabled for your signing site only, with third-party providers turned off.

Safe settings for external signers

A dedicated signing site

A Contracts site in SharePoint with Agreements and Templates folders, the right owners and members, and version history on.

Sharing and Conditional Access review

We confirm your internal sites can’t share externally, and flag any Conditional Access policy that would block a signer.

One branded template

Your NDA or standard agreement, formatted and pre-filled with your signatory, ready to send.

Live end-to-end test

A real request to an external mailbox, signed, with the signed PDF confirmed back in SharePoint.

Staff guide and handover

A branded guide for your team, a 30-minute handover session, and a written record of every setting.

We use it ourselves

Our own contracts run on this setup

SecureLoop signs its NDAs and service agreements with Microsoft 365 eSignature, configured exactly as we set it up for clients. When we tightened our own external sharing, we re-tested signing first. We only sell what we run.

Good to know

  • Microsoft’s usage charge is billed by Microsoft to your Azure subscription, not by us.
  • It creates simple electronic signatures. Deeds and witnessed documents need legal advice first.
  • Email signing links last 30 days. The signed PDF in SharePoint is your permanent record.

eSignature questions

What does Microsoft 365 eSignature cost to run?

Microsoft lists eSignature as a pay-as-you-go service at about US$2 per request, with up to 10 recipients per request, billed through your own Azure subscription. There are no per-user licences. Our setup fee is separate and paid once.

Do my clients need a Microsoft account?

No. Signers receive an email, verify with a one-time code (or their own work account), and sign in their browser. It takes about two minutes. If a signer’s email is also a personal Microsoft account, opening the request in a private browser window avoids sign-in clashes.

Is an electronic signature legally valid?

Microsoft 365 eSignature creates simple electronic signatures, which suit NDAs, engagement letters, service agreements and most commercial contracts. Some documents, such as deeds or anything that needs witnessing, have special requirements. Check those with your legal adviser; we don’t give legal advice.

What do you need from us?

Microsoft 365 with SharePoint, an Azure subscription with a payment method (we can guide you to set one up), temporary admin access or a screen-share session, and the name and title of your signatory.

Can you set up more than one template?

Yes. One branded template is included. Additional templates are $150 each.

Does it work with our existing security settings?

Usually, yes. We review your Conditional Access policies as part of the setup and flag anything that would block an external signer, such as a policy that requires a company-managed device, with the specific fix.

Pairs well with a guest and sharing lockdown

eSignature lets external people in as guests. Our one-day lockdown makes sure that’s the only door open, without breaking signing or client access.
